FB Kids Haunted Trick or Treat

SLURL

This place for kids was really fun and sweet. There was a neighborhood of small houses, surrounded by a haunted theme: ghosts, witches, Jack-O-Lanterns, and spooky sound effects. Each of the houses contained a "treat" to be collected. (One had a trick, but I won't tell you what it was.)

Here we are in our homemade Halloween costumes (yes, we made them ourselves).

I saw a really creepy doll...
This was the scariest house of all!

We got a little lost, there were definitely NO treats in here.Devils. They are SO embarrassing.

And one pic of me showing off my Halloween costume at home:

The Haunted Mansion Ride

SLURL

This one is a tribute to Disneyland's Haunted Mansion ride, and if you have ever been there, this may make you feel a little nostalgic.

My friend was looking a little like Frankenstein's monster... maybe he was scared.
The thing you ride in is like the one at Disneyland... except for the invisible ghost between us, that part was kinda creepy. O.o
Most of the following are things I remember from Disneyland, more or less...

At the end I got this really cool T-shirt.
And... what the...?
Did these porta-potties FOLLOW me from Burning Life?
This is the scariest part of all!!!!!

Willow Grove Haunted House

SLURL

Another traditional haunted house, which required a bit of pre-rezzing time, but was quite fun.

You get to ride in this cute lil pumpkin car...
but don't let that fool you into thinking it's safe. Yow! We almost got cut in half!
Hey, I think I saw this guy at the last haunted house...
I always feel like
Somebody's watching me...
The boiler room, oh yeah.
A bone-fire? Oh, the pun... the pain...

We found a nice quiet restaurant for dinner...
Is this supposed to be LIVE music?
On second thought, the service looks to be pretty slow here... maybe we should leave.

Bentham Manor

SLURL

Bentham Manor is from the same creator who brought you Bentham Forest (see my post earlier this month). It is a haunted house and also a shop, but there is very little signage around to detract from the atmosphere.

Note: For those like me who are graphically lag-challenged, I would suggest parking your avatar after arriving doing something else for 10 minutes while all the textures load.

The haunted dollhouse in the old mill is fabulously detailed.
The mill loft was kind of sad with its abandoned toys.

Climbing up the tower, each room is haunted...
Watch your head.
At the top one can take a breather and enjoy the lovely starry night view.
Hey, I recognize these shroomie elders... haven't I seen them somewhere before?
I'm not sure what's haunted about a bum, but his sign cracked me up.

Autumn in SL

(update: no longer there)

No, I'm not being figurative - "Autumn in SL" is really the name of today's destination. This is a smallish build, yet still manages to combine the mellowness of the fall season with a little halloween spookiness.

A little warmth is appreciated on a chilly autumn afternoon.
Everyone should have a gargoyle. They guard the house, and hardly eat anyone... re, I mean, anything.
See how nice and quiet it is with a gargoyle on guard?
Chat break.
The covered bridge was covered... in cobwebs. Ugh. And to think, I left my broom at home.
Searching for that perfect pumpkin!
A little hanging around...
Bye, Jack!
